Eco at Home

Everyone in the world deserves to have a chance at life. However, this can't occur if the world is all landfills. That is why everyone should become Eco-Friendly at home and at Crestview. Recycling is easy and an effective way to conserve and use resources and can easily be done at home. Composting is also very easy. All you need is a old pot with a lid and some compost able items and you're done.

News Alert!

In Beijing, China, pollution has gotten so bad that you cannot see more than a few hundred feet ahead of you! Smog, or pollution that looks like fog, has filled the air, and many people are heading to the hospital for treatment from the smog. The Chinese government has repeatedly refuted the reports of pollution in China before, but now even the government is recommending that Chinese people stay indoors. Many people are now walking around with masks. It is believed that a reason of the smog is the cold winter, resulting in more people burning fires and causing smog. On a website, there has even been a poll asking if China should have new air quality requirements. One commenter commented that the only people that wouldn't want better air quality requirements are people who are causing the pollution or people who did not breathe.

In many major cities, smog is a big problem, but it has rarely ever gotten to this big of a problem. Los Angeles is one of those major cities. If we do not fix this problem soon, all of us may be walking around with masks!

Eco Minded

Did you know that when someone drops a plastic wrapper on the ground, it will stay there for over 400 years? I certainly didn't. I have seen many plastic wrappers flying around at Crestview lately. This is a problem that needs to be fixed. So, if you happen to see a wrapper, please pick it up and throw it in the big blue recycling cans.

Tip of the Week

This week, we are going to start off the week nice and fresh. Most people think that going to the grocery store is the easiest and freshest way to buy fruits and vegetables. However, most of the time this is not true. Farmers' markets are little markets that provide local and freshly picked vegetables and fruits. They offer seasonal fruits and vegetables unlike canned vegetables and fruits from the super market. Starting fresh and is an easy fix and can be done really quick. So gone online and find a farmers' market near you and GO FRESH!
